Root canal Treatment:
Many patients discover they need a root canal due to severe pain caused by infected tooth nerve, or when the infection spreads into the gums and forms an abscess. Other signs that you may need a root canal include:

Root canals treat diseases or abscessed teeth. Once a tooth is injured, cracked or decayed, it is necessary to open the tooth and clean out the infected tissue in the center. This space is then filled with a pink material called gutta-percha and the opening sealed.

Keeping your tooth helps to prevent your other teeth from drifting out of line and causing jaw problems. Saving a natural tooth avoids having to replace it with an artificial tooth.

After the root canal is finished the tooth needs a large filling called buildup and a crown.
