What are clear aligners?
Clear aligners are custom-made trays that gradually corrects misaligned or crooked teeth. They use gentle and constant force to move the teeth in the required position without going through the hassles of metal wires and brackets. They are a virtually invisible and removable alternative to braces designed around convenience and flexibility.
How do they work?
Each aligner tray is manufactured so your teeth are slightly straighter than the previous tray. The trays are changed every two weeks, for six to eighteen months, depending on the case. Sometimes, tooth-colored composite bumps (similar to brackets) may be placed on the teeth to help the aligners to move the teeth into the desired position.
You will wear them for 20 to 22 hours each day, removing them to eat, drink, brush and floss.
